The drawing series "The Awkwardness of Relationship" presents what could be perceived as the results of genetic experiments gone array, where improbable couplings of two disparate forms are suspended in an unlikely embrace. The motifs in each drawing incorporate two images that in traditional circumstances do not normally co-exist.

These simple line drawings force two separate objects
to become single fused entity. When these elements
are combined they create a diverse hierarchy of unique existence, which parallels the dominance struggle of newly mutated cellular life forms.

The subjects associated scale vary within each work
heightening the sense of the surreal, making actual scale impossible to determine whilst providing the viewer with an experience that is at once both familiar and disconcerting.

This new form floats within a sea of paper viewed as if discovered by the eye of a microscope when scanning the bed of a culture dish, revealing a fusing which provides a partially confused, sometimes bemused response from the subjects.
